Similarities

The Shark IQ and iRobot robotic vacuums are both well-known brands that share a lot of the same great features. Having the ability to schedule cleanings or have on-demand cleanings and their ability to self empty makes a chore just about effortless. You can operate the vacuums from your smartphone, and they are also compatible with Alexa. You can create no-go zones with each, and both can run on carpet, as well as tile and hard floors. Both vacuums come with high-efficiency filters and a 1-year limited warranty.

Differences

But what about the differences? Some differences may make or break the decision for you. Where the Shark is bagless, the iRobot requires one-time-use bags. This makes for an added expense with the iRobot.

The Shark has three cleaning modes; econo, normal, and power, where the iRobot has 2; spot clean and normal. The estimated run time is 60 minutes for the Shark, and the iRobot gets an additional 15 minutes coming in at 75 minutes. Both will return to the dock to charge and resume cleaning when charged.

Lastly, the price of the iRobot is usually more than the Shark.

All-in-All

Overall, both the Shark IQ and iRobot help make what is to some a dreaded time-consuming chore into a much more effortless job. They both share many great features, but there are a few differences between the two. It’s in weighing these differences that will help you in the decision-making process.
